The paper puts forward the idea that a woman’s class (occupational position) contributes to formation of certain orientations and values, which further determine choice in favor particular labor life trajectory after childbirth. authors follow career women childbirth Russia are more career-oriented family-oriented. For this, “Russian Longitudinal Monitoring Survey–Higher School Economics” (RLMS-HSE) panel data from 2001–2021 employed. Drawing on six-year period—the year before birth four years childbirth—the construct sequences various status changes (employed, unemployed, parental leave) identify featured patterns mothers’ trajectories. also analyze number it took for return market It is assumed later entry into suggests less career-oriented, vice versa.
